A. Tournament types
What are the tournament types currently supported?
For now, DGG Network supports 3 types of game tournaments:
Single-elimination
Double-elimination
Round-robin
What is a single-elimination tournament?
A single-elimination tournament is a type of elimination tournament where the loser of each match-up is immediately eliminated from the tournament.
What is a double-elimination tournament?
A double-elimination tournament is a type of elimination competition in which a participant ceases to be eligible to win the tournament's championship after losing two games or matches.
What is a round-robin tournament?
A round-robin tournament is a type of tournament in which each participant plays every other participant the same amount of times, accumulating points as they win (or none if they lose).
B. Register for a tournament
How can I participate in a tournament?
Can I register for a team tournament if I’m not the team owner?
Only the owner of a team can register for the tournament. The owner of the team must register the entire team and decide on the roster for the team tournament.
If I don’t have any teammates, how can I register?
Do all team members need to pay token fee to enter a tournament?
No, only the team owner need to pay the fee to register their roster for the paid tournaments. And you don't need to pay for the non-charging ones.
What happens when I fail to pay the fee to join a paid tournament?
If you fail to pay the required fee, you will see the status “Pay again” displayed on the tournament CTA. In order to join a paid tournament, you need to complete your payment prior to its starting date.
How do I know whether I have registered successfully for a tournament?
Once you’ve finished all the required registration steps, you can see your name displayed in the Participants tab on the tournament details page.
How can I manage tournaments which I have registered for?
Go to My Tournaments page, you will see the list of tournaments you’ve successfully joined.
C. Tournament play questions
What is the time zone of "Start date" and “End date”?
Time is displayed in the users' local timezone or UTC.
How do I know when a match starts?
If you are a team owner, you will receive a notification when you have a match scheduled. Mark it on your calendar and contact your teammates to prepare for your match.
How do I know when I am eliminated from a tournament?
In a single elimination tournament, you will not receive a next match calendar after you lose one. In a double-elimination tournament, your tournament journey will be stoped after two consecutive game losses. For round-robin games, you will be eliminated after a certain number of losses according to the number of participants.
How do I know the final tournament results?
After the tournament ends, you will find tournament results in the Winners tab on the tournament details page.
If I win the games, when will I receive the prize?
Depending on who the tournament organizer is and how the tournament prize is allocated, you will soon receive your prize after the tournament ends.
